While actress Julianne Moore was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2010 for her role in "The Kids Are All Right," she walked away from the awards show empty-handed. But thanks to her then-8-year-old daughter, she didn't remain empty-handed for long.

During a Thursday night visit to "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," Moore explained how she came to get a Golden Globe -- of sorts.

"My daughter ? she was really disappointed that I didn't win," she recalled. "I kept saying 'It doesn't matter. I'm really OK. It's nice to be nominated, nice to be included.' But she was very disappointed and when I came home, she said, 'Mommy, I have a surprise for you. I really wanted you to have a Golden Globe, so I made you a Golden Globe.'"

And, well, the resulting kid craft just has to be seen.

"It's very ? golden, and it's definitely a globe," Moore said. 'And it sits on my desk to remind me that I have a Golden Globe."

Moore then asked the host if it reminded him of anything else. Leno simply wondered if the little one found her inspiration in "mommy's private drawer."

See if Moore puts on another Globe-ish-worthy performance in HBO's Sarah Palin biopic, "Game Change," when it airs March 10 at 9 p.m.
